Black in America: While we appreciate the thought...
Many people who I've spoken to reported to be disappointed with CNN's ambitious undertaking of the "documentary"-style news report Black in America. I remember feeling depressed at the end of Black Women and Family; I've yet to look at The Black Man.
I won't detail what disappointed me about the show - my pain condition is really kicking up right now, and there's just too much to say. What I will do is point you to blogger The Icon's posts about her feelings on the show (here and here), as well as to a petition she has started to implore that Mr. Spike Lee take on the task of documenting what it really means to be Black in America. It may be a pipe dream, but let's see what can happen! I ask that you sign the petition, too.
